THE PRINZ IS BACK

He's back: Prince Rudolf. Empress Sissi's only son once got lost in the forest while looking for a bride (what is it about men looking for women in a forest and not being able to read a map? Honestly!). And this is where Merano's first smart hotel stands.

ONCE UPON A TIME

Once upon a time, there was a sad, little hotel which wanted to become a real boy. Mhm, wait, no, wrong story. Aha, here it is. Ehem! A hotel in a sleepy village just outside Merano called Einsiedler which also featured a small campsite. Diego came to our office with his family, did like all Italians do – gesticulated wildly – and said: ‘What are we gonna build? What, I ask you? We need ideas now, or we’ll be DOOMED!” (We stan a good drama king – you go, Diego!) So we developed an idea fit for royalty!

THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER

We took a walk in the woods, looking for inspiration. We walked past acorns and mushrooms, and that’s when we found it: the Prince Rudolf memorial plaque. This lout apparently had it off in the forest, nearly fell to his death but was rescued. Eureka! We'll build a royal castle, but as modern as it gets. And so we did, in 2021, not a balcony in sight but with 84 rooms, a rooftop SPA and 3 restaurants,
